Suba Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 September 2026 (takes effect with Suba 1.1)
Suba ("the app") is made by Bekir Ersever, an independent developer ("I", "me"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Suba. The short version: your payment data stays on your device and in your own iCloud. I don't run servers that store it, I don't have accounts, I don't show ads, and I don't track you. The app can send anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off.
What Suba stores
Everything you enter in Suba stays on your iPhone or iPad: payments, amounts, due dates, notes, history and settings. If iCloud is turned on for Suba, this data syncs through your own private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so it's available on your other devices. I can't see or access your iCloud data.
What I don't do
- No bank or card connections. Suba never asks for bank logins.
- No user accounts or sign-up.
- No advertising and no ad networks.
- No tracking across apps or websites, no advertising identifiers.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Screenshot import
When you import subscriptions from screenshots of your App Store subscriptions page, the screenshots are read on your device using Apple's on-device text recognition. They are not uploaded anywhere.
To show service icons, Suba looks up the names of the services it recognized using Apple's public iTunes Search API. Only the service name is sent; no amounts, dates or personal data. Apple's privacy policy applies to that request.
Internet requests Suba makes
- Exchange rates and plan list: Suba downloads public exchange rates and a list of common service plans from
rates.suba.info. These are anonymous downloads; Suba sends nothing about you or your payments. Like any web server, the host may briefly process technical data such as your IP address to deliver the file; I don't use it to identify you. - Service icons: as described above (Apple's iTunes Search API).
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which parts of Suba help people and where they get stuck (for example, which setup screen people leave on), Suba sends anonymous usage signals through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in the EU. Examples: "setup screen 3 viewed", "a payment was added", "Pro trial started".
- No names, amounts, service names, notes or any payment details are ever sent.
- No account, no advertising identifier, no IP address stored. Signals can't be linked to you.
- You can turn this off any time: Settings → Privacy → Anonymous usage statistics.
Purchases
Suba Pro is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. I don't receive your payment details. Apple tells the app whether Pro is unlocked.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled on your device. They are not sent from a server.
Support email
If you email me (hello@suba.info) or use "Report a problem" in the app, I receive what you choose to send, such as your email address and message. I use it only to reply to you and improve the app, and I delete it when it's no longer needed.
Children
Suba is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
- You can delete any payment in the app, or delete the app to remove its data from your device.
- To remove data from iCloud: iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → Suba → Delete Data.
- You can turn iCloud sync off for Suba in iPhone Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date above.
